You will talk with an independent pest control provider in the network. Not a call center script, and not a salesperson for Historyvan Pest Control. Historyvan Pest Control makes the introduction. The provider is the one who answers your questions and does the work.

These are local businesses that serve Maryland Heights and the Maryland Heights area. Each one sets its own prices, schedule and methods.

What Happens on the First Contact

It is usually a short, simple talk. Expect questions like these:

• What pest do you think you have, and where did you see it?
• How long has it been going on?
• Do you have children or pets at home?
• Does the house have a basement, crawl space or attic?
• What days and times work for a visit?

There is no wrong answer. If you are not sure what you are looking at, say so. A photo can help later.

The provider may offer a visit time or an estimate. Availability varies, so nothing is promised until the provider confirms it.

What to Ask a Provider

A calm list helps. Try these:

• Are you licensed and insured for this work here?
• What exactly will the visit include?
• Will I get the quote in writing before you start?
• Which products will you use, and are they safe around kids and pets?
• Do I need to leave the house, cover food or move furniture?
• Is a follow-up visit part of the plan, and is it priced separately?
• What can I do to keep the pests from coming back?

Write down the answers. Compare them if you talk to more than one provider.

You Are in Control

You decide everything. You can ask questions, wait, get another opinion or say no. There is no obligation to hire anyone you talk to.

If the plan does not fit your week, say so. Many providers can adjust the timing around school runs and work hours.
